Win a Fly Tester: Micro-Spine Fly Tying Contest

Fly Tyers, Thread Your Bobbins!

We've seen more and more photos on social media of amazing Articulated Micro-Spine flies tied by fly tyers like you.

The flies we've seen are just the tip of the iceberg, so we're holding a fly tying contest on Instagram to help you show off your patterns to the world and give you the chance to win grand prizes. We appreciate the contributions of Fly Fish Food, Redington, Flood Tide Co.Loon OutdoorsThe Fly Fishing ShowKona Fishing Products, and Hareline Dubbin to make this fly tying contest great for everyone who enters!

It's Easy to Enter – Tie a Fly and Snap a Picture

  1. Tie a fly that integrates the NEW Fish-Skull Chocklett's Articulated Micro-Spine and take a photo of it
  2. Post the photo on Instagram, list the Flymen material(s) you used, tag @flymenfishingco, @flyfishfood, @redingtongear, @floodtideco, @loonoutdoors, @theflyfishingshow, @konafishing, and @harelinedubbin, in your post (make sure you're following all of us!), and hashtag #MicroSpineFlyTyingContest

12 Winners Go to the Final Round – And Each Wins a Fly Tester!

The Flymen team will vote to choose 3 weekly winners per week for 4 weeks, for a total of 12 finalists. Finalists will be announced on the Friday of each week, starting Friday, March 13.

The criteria for winning can be anything from realism to creativity, so feel free to go crazy with your design. We love seeing innovative ideas.

Entries are eligible to win through the duration of the contest, meaning a photo you post on the first week could be a winner on the last week.

I posted some fly photos before the contest started... Can I enter them in the contest?

Photos from the past can be entered in the contest, BUT they must be re-posted (simply adding the hashtag on a photo from 3 months ago doesn't count).

The Final Round

At the end of the 4 weeks, we will re-post the 12 winning flies on a webpage for a voting period.

After the voting period, the prizes will be awarded to the fly tyers in order based on how many votes they received.

Everyone who votes in the final round will be entered into a sweepstakes to have the chance to win prizes as well! So even if you don't win a prize in the contest, you may walk away with a great prize pack just from voting!

The Prizes

All finalists will win a NEW 2020 Edition Fly Tester! If you've already pre-ordered a Fly Tester and are selected as a finalist, you can choose to receive store credit of equal value as your prize instead.

The Fly Tester is currently available for pre-order. We are in phase 2 of the pre-orders and the phase 2 Fly Tester units will ship in June. Each finalist will have a Fly Tester reserved for them.

Tom, currently it is a pre-sale period for the Fly Tester as it is a future product. Units will ship in late May/early June. Thank you for your question and for pre-ordering the Fly Tester.
