Take Your Flats Fly Fishing to the Next Level
The original Gotcha shrimp fly pattern is a staple in flats fishing fly boxes. This next-generation Gotcha variation adds some new elements to help this classic pattern fish even better.
By adding the Fish-Skull Shrimp & Cray Tail, the Gummy Gotcha fly gets to the bottom super quick to grab the attention of cruising bonefish and permit so you can land that fish of a lifetime. Layering several types of flash and adding Chewee Skin helps give the Gummy Gotcha fly the translucent look that you see in natural shrimp.
Fly Recipe
- Hook: Kona Universal Strong Streamer (USS) hook, size 1/0
- Tail: Fish-Skull Shrimp & Cray Tail, silver, size medium
- Mouth: Fish-Skull Faux Bucktail, white - Polar Flash Opal - Lateral Scale
- Eyes: Easy DIY Plastic Bead Eyes (see video to learn how to build these)
- Body: UV Chewee Skin - Flashabou
- Wing: Fish-Skull Faux Bucktail, white - Polar Flash - Lateral Scale - Craft Fur
