The Idea That Started It All

This obsession inspired lifelong fly fishing and fly tying fanatic Martin Bawden to hang up his suit and tie and start Flymen Fishing Company in 2008. Martin had a vision to bring the previously mysterious world of fly tying to the masses: simplified fly tying materials designed to combine ease of tying with top-notch performance on the water.

The Flymen Team

Martin Bawden, CEO

Martin is the founder of Flymen Fishing Company and the head product designer. He based the company in Charleston, South Carolina for easy access to some of the best freshwater and saltwater fisheries in the United States. When not on the water “field testing,” he can be found tying at various fly fishing events. Articles on his innovative fly tying products and fly patterns have appeared in various fly fishing publications.
